Personally, I like the ukulele because it is so tiny and it is supposed to be that way. I am so fat a guitar looks like a uke when I am holding it. Of course, I have no talent when it comes to music so I’ll leave it to the pros.

It’s a tiny boy doing a Dave Matthews impression covering Jason Mraz. I am kidding this little guy is 500% better than Dave Matthews.

It has been a while since I fed my ukulele habit. However, this one was by accident as I was just checking out a blog I stumbled onto a while back featuring Fleet Foxes. I spent a couple of hours at this blog checking out the unique performances. I’ll probably share more in the future because they are pretty damn cool.

Yes, that just happened. Yet another ukulele post on sikkdays.com I think I may need help.
In yet another step towards becoming a ukulele fan blog, here’s more jams brought to you by Julia Nunes.
This is Keep Fishin, a Weezer cover:
An original called Balloons:
I have been meaning to post this for 3 days. Yet, each time I sat down and opened up her youtube channel to pick a video to throw on sikkdays I spent the night rocking out and falling in love all over again.
Julia is talented, adorable and fun. I think that is the part I really enjoy, she is having fun. She’s not a pretentious artist or a diva posing for the camera, she’s someone enjoying what she is doing, smiling and laughing. I was gushing about her for the last couple days and it seemed like there was more that I wanted to add, but you don’t want to hear me spilling romantic dribble about us being married and me doing her audio and video for her. I’ll let her speak for herself in the videos.
Thanks to Chetyre for the heads up on this one. That’s 2 scoops provided by him, I am glad I pay him in DP(PMOG currency) to be my friend.
I apologize if this post made it appear as if I have a heart. I am sure I will resort back to the narcisistic, sarcastic blog formula in the next post.
A random video from tweet Ktness82, introduced me to the Hurdy Gurdy. Being musically ignorant, I thought I would share to those of you who suffer from the same condition. The Ukulele has provided some great blog posts because I enjoy hearing a different take on a tune. Yet, for the most part I am an old curmudgeon and prefer the original. I guess I am a walking hypocrite, like everyone else. Damn.
The Hurdy Gurdy is as bizarre as it is cool. I’ll leave the explanations to the wiki page, though the last video has a short what for at the end. There wasn’t much to choose from when it came to finding some videos, but check it out.
A quick Irish jig
Getting funky on the Hurdy Gurdy with Hendrix
Melissa the Loud is freakin’ awesome on the thing, but there aren’t any decent quality videos that I can find of her. It’s either bad video or bad audio. This one is fair.
And now back to your regularly scheduled bullshit. Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate the four of you that visit.
