JFK Argues for Healthcare
Posted by Chris on Thursday, December 3, 2009

I argue once a week on Twitter that I want health CARE. I thought that was the goal. Instead, we are trying to make sure everyone has access to insurance. Why?  The corporate insurance company lobbyists don’t want the government to take over their industry. So they frighten people with the idea that Obama will start death panels, deny you that nose job and come to your house eat all your chocolate and urinate on your tapestry collection.

Sadly, the more things change the more they stay the same.

As much as I would like to continue my rant, I’ll stand down.

Palin Supporters at a Book Signing
Posted by Chris on Sunday, November 29, 2009

This video has been everywhere because liberal folks like seeing that they are right.  No, I don’t like Sarah Palin. I just think the video is a sad commentary on our political system all together. It’s all about image.

via Gawker

We get real caught up in image. Look at Obama, gays & lesbians just assumed he was behind them. Yet, he defended DOMA.

Elections are just elaborate marketing campaigns, now. And everyone knows that advertisers always make claims about their products that just aren’t true. We joke about the fine print that is barely readable. Bush & Gore pandered to voters so much in the 2000 election that many political cartoons & sketch comedy shows joked that they were the same person.

Tell the people what they want to hear to get their vote. Once elected, make the corporations/lobbyists happy. Fuck the people.

INTERESTING: Boycott ghostwritten books designed for branding.

News is Entertainment
Posted by Chris on Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Years ago, people like Neil Postman professed it would happen. In the transition from sharing information to entertainment the news has not only lost focus, but is a disservice to the people. When market shares and ratings dictate news coverage, controversy equals entertainment. Videos & the rant after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

John Hodgman Correspondents’ Dinner
Posted by Chris on Monday, June 22, 2009

I saw this over the weekend and I see it making the rounds, but I am just going to post it to fit in. Hodgman does his best to test Obama’s geek credentials.

Thanks to mmmPi

I have always enjoyed his take on ‘meh.’ Since I use that way too much.

Stay classy America.

If you watch this video and you don’t get it, chances are you have a Tweety bird tattoo under your sweat pants.

Optim-ism
Posted by Chris on Saturday, February 28, 2009

Apparently there are some legal issues with the infamous Obama poster. The poster parodies wore on me after the first one. Although I did pee a little when I saw this over at jolopnik.

Nevermind Cover Baby
Posted by Chris on Friday, December 12, 2008

Hard to believe that Nevermind came out 17 years ago.  Baby is all grown up starting a life of his own.  Spencer Elden, the baby, has just got himself an internship with Shepard Fairey, the artist who created the much imitated Obama red, white and blue graphic poster.  You can read more about him at CNN.
