…the always entertaining and innovative Mark Vidler of Go Home Productions.
This is the same guy who squeezed together a Beach Boys classic and an Advert for a Cadbury chocolate bar and managed to make it one of the most listenable tracks ever.

The latest offering? Well, he’s only gone and mashed up Nirvana and The Jackson Five, hasn’t he? Sit back and enjoy the somewhat bemusing sound of Kurt Cobain having been forcibly cheered up…

Like what you hear? Then why not download this and a crapload more from his site here. Sorry, but it only works with Internet Explorer.

Jump those ropes!
Posted by Spike Matthews on Monday, August 16, 2010

A work mate was trying to relieve the boredom and found this video clip.
If someone laughs at you for suggesting that skipping a rope should be an Olympic sport, tell them to watch this and see their jaws drop.

Oh yeah – and it’s a storming tune by DJ Fresh to boot.
Cheers Dean!

ANTS in My Scanner
Posted by Chris on Tuesday, August 3, 2010

According to the vimeo page the video’s creator put an ant colony in his scanner and this video is the result of scanning it at regular intervals for 5 years. True or not, it’s a great video.

I am a snob. I  carry lots of preconceived ideas. But and that but is almost as big as my butt (which is big but you will have to take my word for it) I recognise my mistakes – if they are pointed out to me in a clear and polite way (meaning do not get any ideas).  I am also a pretty social gal, meaning I do a lot of Facebook (what did you expect from a self confessed geek?) That was that, when snooping around on my pal Spike’s wall I found the link to the video you can see below.  I like Greenday very much and I am partial to that song so when I saw the Country – Hillbilly style of the band I went seriously meh, but then I started listening and then I looked up more of their work and boy was I surprised. They are called Hayseed Dixie and they appear to be nuts with a good helping of talent.  Their music is called “Rockgrass” but what have labels got to do with anything? Enjoy!

**UPDATE**
EMI (well, Jay-Z and Alicia Keys, apparently) forced this one off Youtube for copyright reasons, so here it is again. Sorry, it’s only a link though.

That’s Newport, Wales. Kudos to my wife fer finding this cracking piss-take of Alicia Keys and Jay-Z. And cheers fer reminding me of one of those towns that will be forever “well, it’s okay, I suppose”. I lived thereabouts fer nearly four year (specifically Caeleon – which gets a mention – and Risca – which doesn’t. Thankfully.)

Best bit for me is 2:38 in, where our rapper appears to be a little freaked out by his companion…
