Cornify
Posted by Chris on Friday, February 6, 2009

I give you this power, but remember with great power comes great responsibility. At first I thought it was silly fun, but if you decide to follow the instructions on the site and put link in your toolbar, it is quite a stress reliever. I found this via urlesque.

cornify

I was trying to think of the best site that would benefit from some Cornify, so I went for Mr. Cruise.  Do you have a better idea? Go forth and Cornify something.  I started The Not So Epic Cornified Sites Thread over in the Sikkdays Forum ghost town so you could post pictures of the sites you thought would benefit from some Cornification. You could just be lazy and post a suggestion here in the comments and I might go out and do it for you. That would also preserve the ghost town status of the forum and allow me to continue to do the “I only have 4 visitors to my blog” jokes.

Sikkways
Posted by Chris on Tuesday, November 18, 2008

You may have noticed that we have avatars in the comments here, now.  Currently, the blog now supports Gravatar out of the box. As much fun as it would be to host your avatar for the 4 of you, instead you can post your favorite pic over at Gravatar and this “global” avatar can be used at loads of web pages and blogs.  You don’t have to sign in here at Sikkdays, as it checks your email address when you post the comment.  That was a lesson I learned myself as I signed into Gravatar with a different email than the one I typed in the comment box here.

Forums?

As it is now, I have not found a sound solution to combining a log in to the blog with a log in to the forum.  In fact, with the addition of Gravatars there isn’t currently a need to log in to the blog.  So, what I am saying?  To comment in the forum you have to sign up and the magical forum robot will determine you are not an evil spamming computer and set you up.  There you can choose an avatar or upload your own, I believe, as it has nothing to do with Gravatar.

Long story short, the forums used to be the hip place to hang out back in the day.  And by hip, I mean 5 people used to share and debate there because there was no blog or comment system.  It seems a bit dead now, but feel free to use it and make suggestions for the blog or whatever there.

Much Love

Or whatever the kids say these days, to Paul over at padizio for finding a major oops in the upgrade and retrofitting of Sikkdays.  I owe him a mini cooper, as he kicks ass.

Arcade?

Where did the Sikkdays arcade, consisting of one measly game go? Nowhere, it is here, if you can find where I not so cleverly hid it.

Orange You Glad to See Us?
Posted by Chris on Monday, November 17, 2008

OK, give me a break I’ve been up really late perfecting the new and improved digs here.  Alright, I’ll stop bull shitting you too, that probably is the best joke I could come up with anyway.

I could wax nostalgic about the history of sikkdays.com but you just came here because your favorite porn site was down.  So, I’ll spare you the memories here and post them in the forum, perhaps.

I’ve got a ton of notes for some posts that I hope to flood the blog with later today.  In the mean time, check out the new digs and let me know what parts are entirely screwed up.

I’m off to balance all this angry sarcasm with a good deed.  I’m going to fetch a handicap ramp and install it at my grandparents house.  Later, peeps.

R Rated Trailer for Choke
Posted by Chris on Monday, July 14, 2008

Sometime ago I posted a small review of Choke by Chuck Palahniuk in the Sikkdays forum.  After that I posted some risqué videos on Youtube that his publisher was using to promote his new book Snuff.  Here’s the naughty trailer for the movie based on Choke coming out in September.

It’s okay to watch it again, I won’t tell anybody or post the number of views from your IP address in a future post, I promise.

Cory Doctorow’s Little Brother
Posted by Chris on Saturday, July 12, 2008

Lil broI finished reading this in two days, but I shuddered in a corner for a week, cried for another and finally spent the last week in the shower trying to wash away the feeling the government was watching everything I was doing.  It’s a great book, check my brief review in the book section of the forum.  Feel free to make book suggestions in the forum or the comments here on this post.

If you’d like to read Little Brother,  Doctorow and his publisher are giving it away for free in many electronic formats at this web page.  It’s a novel concept, sorry I couldn’t resist the pun.  Seriously, the forward of the book explains Doctorow’s thoughts on free books promoting the sale of more books rather than cutting into sales.  The argument is a good one, and so is the book, I will probably buy one now to have it on my shelf.

Snuff by Chuck Palahniuk
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, May 14, 2008

Some time ago I posted a short review in the forum of Choke, a book by Chuck Palahniuk. For his new book, Snuff, they’ve got a strange marketing strategy. Apparently, Snuff is about a porn star who has fallen from the limelight. In order to get back on top(pun intended), she decides to bust(yes) the world recorded for fornicating with the most men in one video. The book is from the perspective of Mr. 72, Mr. 137 and Mr. 600 as they wait in line in the green room. To market the book, two of the porn star’s former movie titles have trailers on Youtube. Very groovy movies.

The Wizard of Ass

Chitty Chitty Gang Bang

Oh, the forum, right.  So, I still haven’t finished the navigation for that.  I keep putting it off because it isn’t in much of a demand and I am trying to design something for both the blog and forum, a streamlined all purpose flavor.  I recently lost my day to day employment, so maybe it will actually get finished!

Photoshop Fun
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, April 2, 2008

So, I found this two weeks ago and I made myself a reminder to post it, but I wanted to ask if I could post the picture here. I just found it on another site, so you’ve probably already seen it.Here’s a real life Homer and Mario. Every time I see a some Photoshop wonders, I think, “I can do that.” Of course, when I try to prove it to myself, the truth is I don’t have the patience. Mario and Homer are way beyond my skills, they look pretty good.

Speaking of patience, sorry I am still retooling the forum.  I think I have modified the the forum to my liking(hidden from your views, at this time), but I am currently trying to come up with a new navigation/menu system.  Somewhere I lost my creativity, as soon as I find it, the forum will be sparkling new and even the blog eventually.
