Jack White Pulls a Kanye West
Posted by Chris on Tuesday, November 17, 2009

I don’t know where I was when this happened. Honestly I want to laugh, but at the same time I’d like to see Kanye fall off the face of the planet.

Recently, I watched It Might Get Loud which featured Jack White. I’ve never heard of the film they are talking about in the clip above. It Might Get Loud was fairly decent, I learned Jack White might be that kid you know who is weird for the sake of being weird, the Edge is ALL effects and Jimmy Page could outplay either one of them while sleeping in a bathtub full of his own blood and urine.

H2Oil Animations by La Moustache
Posted by Chris on Tuesday, October 27, 2009

I spotted these over at Motionographer, and went looking for them to share with you all. The animations themselves are interesting, fast paced & effective. The subject and information is incredibly intriguing. I am sad that I no longer have Netflix, I would like to see the documentary that these animations came from, H2Oil.

Gogol Bordello Non Stop
Posted by Chris on Saturday, September 12, 2009

So, I just discover Gogol Bordello for the first time and Pix comments that you have to see them live. I think I understand her claim after seeing the trailer for a documentary film by Margarita Jimeno. Coincidentally, the film opens in New York days after I learn of the group. Huh…

Art & Copy
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, September 9, 2009

I saw this trailer a while back and dropped it on my desktop to share. Cleaned the desktop a month later and here you are.

Check the site for more information.  I need to get back on Netflix so I can see this sort of stuff again. Perhaps, a sikkdays.com contest of some kind…the winner gets to buy me netflix for a year. Well, the idea sounds good to me, anyway.

Food Inc. Review
Posted by Chris on Thursday, August 27, 2009

When I first heard about this film I was excited because I was reading Pollan’s Omnivore’s Dillema. The trailer gave me hope, and then I got the feeling from the director that he didn’t have the courage to speak up about the issues surrounding our food system. (I posted the trailer & director interview here)  I am happy to report the film proved me wrong. Read the rest of this entry »
