Red House Furniture to Heal the Nation
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, January 20, 2010

My rants typically paint capitalism as an ugly term, but the folks at Red House Furniture are not just in the business of making money. No. They are going to bring African Americans & white people together on the same bed or the same couch. “Can’t we all just get along?”

Rad Omen – Rad Anthem

This is just a great concept for a music video. I’ll spare you the rant on fast food, advertising and capitalism. You can draw your own conclusions. As all music videos, this is probably NSFW.

Linked In …to what?
Posted by Chris on Tuesday, November 24, 2009

You can skip my rant and just watch the video.

I was just saying on Twitter how amazing it is to me that people are so eager to receive junk mail & advertising. I mean if someone asks for your name and address you get defensive about your privacy, unless they throw the words “Social Network” in front of their proposal.

Now we have people out there calling themselves professionals who are labeled Social Marketing experts. The job is to advertise the company they work for on social networks like twitter, facebook, etc. The name of the game is exposure. Forget quality interactions, lets just see how many fans we can get on our Facebook fan page because that means more customers! Let us worship our all mighty god QUANTITY!! As consumerism is our religion, MORE is our goal.

The folks who lampooned twitter have called out the LinkedIn in the following video.

Kirk Cameron Celebrates The Origin of Species Anniversary
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Kirk Cameron wouldn’t still be in the limelight if it wasn’t for the haters, like me. Thus, by posting this I fuel his existence because I know if he wasn’t out there I might not exist to complain. Honestly, I think I would have rather seen Kirk take the natural child star route and moved to a life of crime. Old joke is old. Instead, like a good capitalist, he is selling organized religion.

Now, I love the internet because like any technology, it evolved out of laziness. Why do your paper, experiment with your own cake recipe or make a homemade porn when it has all been done before and is available online?

I don’t even have to be angry and bitter about Kirk Cameron, and his awkward friend, giving out their customized copies of The Origin of Species because there’s someone online that already did it.

News is Entertainment
Posted by Chris on Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Years ago, people like Neil Postman professed it would happen. In the transition from sharing information to entertainment the news has not only lost focus, but is a disservice to the people. When market shares and ratings dictate news coverage, controversy equals entertainment. Videos & the rant after the jump. Read the rest of this entry »

Earth Dies in 2030
Posted by Chris on Sunday, November 2, 2008

earth

Yep, according to the World Wildlife Fund, the Zoological Society of London and the Global Footprint Network our current consumption rate will require us to have 2 more planets to sustain our lifestyle by the year 2030.  At least will have all that worthless green paper, we call money.  Hooray greed!  In related news, I’m blogging this from my new gas powered laptop as I sit next to a tire bonfire I started last month and an air conditioner that I propped up in a chair next to me for a breeze.  The next 500 word blog post will be printed on 500 individual 8 1/2 x 11 sheets of paper delivered to your door separately by 500 semi-trucks.  Oh, I kid, none of that would make me money and life is all about profit.  Hooray capitalism!
