PMOG Link Monday vol. 13
Posted by Chris on Monday, September 15, 2008

Last week, I was an unorganized mess and didn’t get a chance to post any links, sorry.  Here’s what I got this past week:

Big Bang

If you could find any news that didn’t involve the election, they may have been talking about the Large Hadron Collider.  Though, most of the less-informed, local news stations were probably telling you to pray it doesn’t destroy the world.  t_man put together a nice mission about the LHC, including a link to the BBC with a short video and a great summary of the experiment. Click here or the Big Bang title.

Hypermiling

Well, I know it was all over the blog world weeks ago, but I just got around to reading more on this “hypermiling.”  bando put together a mission featuring two links of interest to me as they were short and concise, explaining some basic steps.  Edmunds, has a good list and, of course, hypermiling.com has some excellent resources also.  Or you could use no gas at all, just piss off those with road rage and have them push you down the highway.  Be sure to tie tires around your car, like a tugboat, first.

Tumbleweed Houses

Keeping with the energy saving theme from the last links, stormfox introduced me tiny houses.  These homes are for those people who hate big house payments and cleaning.  If your house is only 85 sq. feet it can’t cost much and certainly wouldn’t take you all day to clean.  Not to long ago, when homes were self-sustaining and not dependent on the grocery store, you spent your days out in the field and caring for livestock.  A house was merely a shelter and there was no need for a 45 seat theater, a gym or a masturbatorium.

Paper Cutouts

Finally, check this page out!  beanfeast’s mission brought me to this page that has some amazing paper cut out work on it.  I do not have the patience to photoshop a picture, let alone do something that detailed with paper.
