Comparative childhoods

I got something to confess…  I am old, like dude way old. I was born in 1972. Yeah there were people born in those days too, bud. I never feel so old as when we change interns at work (joy) or when I ponder about my niece and nephew. My nephew is going to start high school in September. WTF man? He was born in 1998, he is a baby… If you aint feeling down by now lets talk about my niece who was born in 2009.

The worst thing is that inside this old body I feel like a kid. Read the rest of this entry »

Emmanuel vs the stick figures

Disclaimer people that know me know I have a thing about fashion… as in I hate it! I get mad when I hear people talking about how fashion empowers women and how it helps them be the best they can be. I am a textile engineer dude, I know that a t-shirt costs about 1 euro to produce ( if it is produced in Greece and might be  a bit more if there is shiny stuff on it and prints).   So why on earth would I pay 240 euros for a plain black t-shirt?  Lets forget about little kids sewing your footwear and sports kit or ladies being boarded on a ship to work at sea in international waters so that their employer is free from things called laws and stuff. Lets keep it light. Look at this (there are boobs involved) and then look at Victoria’s Secret.  The difference is just about 30 something years. The 70′s  ladies got boobs, they got thighs and at least they don’t stare at the camera like crack-heads. (No I am not turned on by  boyish girls not even by boyish boys). You don’t have to agree with me and please tell me so but why is a commercial showing these nymphets allowed on prime time tv, while the one bellow isn’t?

Remember Moonlighting?
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, May 5, 2010

Or were you just trying to forget it?

For the last Way Back Wednesday we went past way back to obscure. So today I bring you Bruno, when he still had hair.

Shatner & Leslie Nielson started out as serious, dramatic actors and transitioned to comedy when they got older. Thus, the universe demands balance so Bruce Willis started out as a nutty P.I. and made his way to some dramatic thrillers. Now like most of Hollywood, he goes where the money is- action films.

I’ll spare you the description of the show, if you’ve never seen it I doubt you have read this far into the post.

Was this the best clip I could find? Um, does it matter? Very few things can actually stand the test of time. Why do you think Disney has the vault? They know they have to create their own demand or they’ll never sell old cartoons.

The Price is Creepy

It’s shameful when you take a classy American legend and edit the clips of his career like a reality show. And, that’s why I am posting it here. Boosh!

Posted by Chris on Friday, March 19, 2010

Uhg. It is so hard to find anything original on television. Stuckey and Murry show you one of the many, many clichés.
