Stephen Fry is a very brave man
Posted by Spike Matthews on Friday, February 12, 2010

You may have gathered from a couple of my earlier posts that I have Views. You may also have gleaned the idea that I’m not over-shy about bruiting them about.
As far as religion goes, I don’t see the need for it these days, although I am quite happy with the idea of personal faith. Believe what you will, just don’t try and force others to join you. There may be a God, there may be many – or none. Whatever; I just live to be the best person that I can.
That said, I have to applaud Stephen Fry for having the guts to stand up in front of a hall full of people – half of whom are strict believers of one form or another – and, in a quite logical manner, pointing out the major flaws of the way the Catholic Church operates.

The Intelligence² Debate – Stephen Fry (Unedited)

My favourite bit? When he’s referring to his own sexuality and saying, “… for me to be called a pervert by these extraordinarily sexually dysfunctional people….”

Kirk Cameron Celebrates The Origin of Species Anniversary
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Kirk Cameron wouldn’t still be in the limelight if it wasn’t for the haters, like me. Thus, by posting this I fuel his existence because I know if he wasn’t out there I might not exist to complain. Honestly, I think I would have rather seen Kirk take the natural child star route and moved to a life of crime. Old joke is old. Instead, like a good capitalist, he is selling organized religion.

Now, I love the internet because like any technology, it evolved out of laziness. Why do your paper, experiment with your own cake recipe or make a homemade porn when it has all been done before and is available online?

I don’t even have to be angry and bitter about Kirk Cameron, and his awkward friend, giving out their customized copies of The Origin of Species because there’s someone online that already did it.

Off to School to Rot Your Brain
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, September 2, 2009

This video was popular 3 months ago, but I chose not to post it because I didn’t want to give this group more exposure even in jest. However, it does seem to be back to school time for many of you folks, so enjoy.

I am open minded enough to give them the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps, they made this video highly exaggerated to get a laugh? Unfortunately, religious fundamentalists can’t be open minded enough to believe a non-Christian individual could actually be a decent human being. Therefore, it is much easier to sink to their intolerable level of thinking and attack this video just as harshly.

Everyone knows college is about churning out future alcoholics for the liquor industry not hippies.

You can also watch a video where they murder a college professor with an ipod, which simultaneously promotes rational thinking. Huh? Yes be rational, don’t actually believe they want you to kill your professor. It’s just ‘comedy.’ Now, forget reason and rational thought and buy our MP3s on defending the bible in your classes.

Kirk Cameron’s Pets Are Left Behind
Posted by Chris on Monday, July 13, 2009

This idea is amazing: Eternal Earth-Bound Pets

When the rapture comes and all the evil heathens & soulless creatures are left behind, who’s going to care for your puppy or kitty? Evil heathens, err, I mean Atheists, that’s who. For a small fee they promise to rescue & care for your pets while you drink piña coladas with your favorite supernatural immortal being.

“Unfortunately at this time we are not equipped to accommodate all species and must limit our services to dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, and small caged mammals.”

No fish?!?!? That’s why the atheists will be left behind, no respect for a Christian symbol.

Cruise vs. Sham Wow
Posted by Chris on Wednesday, March 4, 2009

vincesham

Some of my friends from the game formally known as PMOG, sent me this story about Vince. Y’know Vince, the ShamWow guy. Apparently, his greatest crime against the world is not his work in infomercials. He is responsible for The Underground Comedy Movie.

Turns out Vince made that movie with connections through his church.  The Scientology folks didn’t like his movie and punished him, presumably by tossing toast at him and revoking his flying saucer license. Now, Vince uses all his money to fight the church. Next time you see him in a commercial or infomercial, do that thing where you pound your chest and flash the peace sign at him to show some props. That’s how you do it, right?

Anyway, this is the link with the story about our hero, Vince:

PMOG Link Monday vol. 15
Posted by Chris on Monday, October 6, 2008

Jumping right into the PMOG missions I took this week, here’s the goods–

Religulous vs. Expelled

The friendly atheist blog has an article from the Orlando Sentinel comparing Ben Stein’s Expelled to Bill Maher’s Religulous.  A while back I shared my opinion on the Ben Stein film produced to discredit the idea of evolution.   I have yet to see Expelled or Religulous, but I hope to see both.  The article comparing  the films was very interesting and I found it thanks to a mission by deixado leading me to the friendlyatheist.com

OVGuide

Thanks to PMOG user clicktok, I’ve got a new place to search for TV shows & movies online.  OVGuide is a site that allows users to search for video content from over 1600 sites.  I am looking forward to catching up with some bad TV there.

Totem Destroyer

totem, yo!I could have posted this volume of PMOG Link Monday much sooner, but I spent an hour playing Totem Destroyer.  If you lose track of what day it is because you are having so much fun, blame gbelste not me.  I am warning you that it is addictingly fun.

A Fair(y) Use Tale

Finally, I took a mission on copyright law to see what sort of resources were presented by the PMOG user.  It was mostly sites that I already seen, but another user, allyson posted this video link in the comments:

I thought they used a great concept  to discuss copyright.
